Dust will almost always stays a problem for desktops. What you can do is buy some dustshields and place them before your fans that blows air in. Another trick is,but you have to some calculations for this,to make sure your CFM(cubic feet per minute)incoming air is higher then your CFM outgoing air. This creates overpressure in your case so dust can come in tru all those little holes in your case, but the overpressure will reduce airflow in your case and this will create higher temps. But if you have a standard pc,this will not create any problems. If you have a high-end desktop(like me)and like to overclock(like me)then the overpressure trick isn't a good idea. Then you should go for the dustshields/-covers,but dont expect miracles from it.You need to vacume these once in a while. Ow yeah, whatever you do,never use a vacume to clean the inside of your desktop. The fast moving air can create a static charge that can kill your desktop.I use a soft paintbrush for that.

Can of compressed air can also do the trick to blow away that nasty dust. Agree with Ren, vacumming is a sure fire way to kill your desktop! lol

A can of compressed can help to.But still gotta be carefull where you point it at. Avoid the BIOS chip, your cpu and your hard drive(s).

For those who really want to do everything to get rid of dust,i got some more tips: 1)If you use an old desktop witch still uses PATA-cables,you will see that the cable out of more little cables. With some patience, you can split these up,roll them up and then cover them with tape or krimpkous(dunno the english word). When this is done, you can bind all the cables in your desktop togheter,so dust has a dificulties sticking on the cables. 2)If you want to buy a new case, buy one with cable management hole in the backplate. You can route you cables tru them,so it will provide a cleaner look and again dust cant stick to the cables. 3)If possible, dont put your desktop on the floor. This is all i can think of right know.If i can come up with some new tips,i'll let them know. Now,what kinda problems can dust cause to your system.Only one,but its an important one. It can cuase your sysytem to heat up.And this is bad.Yuor system restarts without reason, software that locks up and eventually the BSOD(blue screen of death). If you get this screen and it says this code 0×0000009c then you know its a problem with insufficient cooling.Look for dust and check your cpu and case fans.
